I always knew that I wanted to be a physiotherapist from the age of 14 when I injured my ankle and needed to visit a physiotherapist myself.
I completed a 4 year honours degree in physiotherapy at UCT in 1998.
My first employment was at a general private practice in Parow where I treated chronic spinal injuries, including whiplashes, headaches and sports injuries. Over weekends I also worked at Panorama Hospital.
After 4 years of employment, I attained work overseas for a Saudi family and began to travel extensively where I got to converse with other highly recognised health care practitioners and so expanded my knowledge abroad.
Wanting to still have a practice in South Africa and travel at the same time, I decided to work part time overseas and opened up my own first practice in 2003 in Bloubergsands. Once I stopped travelling, I moved my practice to Blouberg Medi-Spa in West beach in 2009 on a permanent basis.
Being a member of the Health Professionals Council of South Africa, I am committed to attend several courses each year to further my education and keep up to date with the latest international techniques.
